I just came across the Red Bull Crashed Ice 2013 Season Highlights. Wow...talk about extreme! Downhill Ice Skating races in different places all over the world... : ) It seems that it would take a good amount of skill, courage and craziness to hurtle your body down an ice track at breakneck speed. Watching the highlights can be inspiring, in a weird way : )

This looks really slick. The Zeal Optics New HD Camera Goggle. The first we've seen. Whoever thought of combining a HD camera with a snow goggle? Genius. It shoots up to 1080p HD videos and 8MP photos! Congratulations Farris! What an honour to be on Red Bull's list. : ) Read more here: http://www.redbull.sg/cs/Satellite/en_SG/Article/Farris-Rahman-joins-Red-Bull-as-first-Singapore-skateboarding-athlete-021243328858908 Sorry for the radio silence..
Was in Niseko the whole of last week for some late season shredding! It was a fun ski and snowboard trip! Everyone in the party levelled up their skills! And the Snow Guys met and made new friends! Jumped straight back to work today. Hopefully update with pics and vids soon. =) Found out through facebook that one of our friends is in Niseko RIGHT NOW! Latest update as of blog posting: So there you have it, we're so glad to hear that POWDER's STILL FALLING BY THE HEAPS!
6 more days to Niseko... Now this is something new to me. From BoarderKontrol. "BK allows the rider to control their speed coming into the turn, gives them an "out" if they want to abort half-way through the turn without falling over, and then allows them to control their speed as they pick up speed coming out of the turn. " Innovative? Interesting.. Check out the video below on how it works. Visit BK's website here: http://www.streetboardz.net/boarderkontrol/
It is extremely important that your fitness is kept in tip-top shape to ensure maximum enjoyment on the slopes. Many people don't realise it but skiing and snowboarding are very physically demanding sports. We are all very busy people, but make sure you get your runs going in the weeks leading up to the trip. We recommend 5km runs 3 times a week at the very least to maintain your fitness. Go to the gym to strengthen your core and thigh muscles. Of course this varies according to the individual.
Riding powder requires way more stamina than hard packed snow. Stronger thigh muscles too. If you are not fit, you would surely experience cramps and be out of breath while you are up in the mountain. Even as early as the first day. This could then affect your overall enjoyment of the trip. Came across this shop in Marina Link. Cool shades! Didn't think brands like Dragon and Von Zipper (snowboard goggle brands) were sold in Singapore! =) I think those brands are really cool. Should really get my hands on a pair.. or two. They sell mostly sunglasses, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they also sell goggles on their website! Mmm.. those Dragons look really tempting..
